The ADUM1250ARZ hot-swap digital isolator features a non-latching bidirectional communication channel compatible with an I2C interface. This eliminates the need to split the I2C signal into separate transmit and receive signals for use with separate optocouplers. It is on the Antminer D7 hash board. The isolator provides two bidirectional channels supporting a completely isolated I2C interface. In addition, it contains hot-swap circuitry to prevent data disturbance when an unpowered card is plugged into an active bus. iCoupler is a magnetic isolation technology that offers advantages in functionality, performance, size, and power consumption compared to optocouplers, enabling a wholly isolated I2C interface in a small footprint.
